Arriving at the ball
Entry to the Academy: Wrist bands are required for entry to camp. Please ensure that all guests have ID as the guard room has been provided with a guest list.
Run of show
Food
During the event, you’ll find a variety of food stations across different locations. The Victory Dining Room, Field House and the Forum will offer a varied selection to satisfy everyone! Take a look at our menus below.
Drink
A full selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided throughout the evening at the Forum Main Bar and Cocktail Bar. Help yourself fridges will be located throughout the event. Alternative drinks may also be purchased from the Henderson Bar.

There will be a medical team on site for the event, if you require assistance they will be located by the reception desk in the Main Forum.
The Purple Ball is the premier event of the Defence Academy’s social calendar and is legendary throughout the Ministry of Defence. This year’s event will be held on Saturday 6th July 2024.
This year the committee will be bringing you an evening celebrating the movies of the 1980s and the amazing associated pop culture that we know and love. Think Heroes! Think crazy adventures! Think High School students doing improbable things! Think big hair and shoulder pads! Think Neon!!!
The ball will feature multiple eating, drinking and entertainment options, and decoration worthy of the size of the event. Dress will be Black Tie with an 80s twist.
